Freestyle Meandering and Most Edge to Edge Designs- This is freeform artwork on your quilt. It can be a simple large meander or something more complex like swirls and spirals. It includes stars, flowers, leaves, hearts, etc. These designs work best with quilts that do not have borders or centered designs and are for the budget conscious customer. No marking is involved in this style. Simple pantographs are also in this category (May also include turn charge depending on pattern). Pricing is $.02 per square inch.
My pricing is based on square inches. To determine the square inches in your quilt, multiply the length x width. If your quilt is 85” x 90”, the total square inches are 7650” (85x90=7650 square inches). Multiply that by the price per square inch to get the total price for quilting.
I know it is confusing. Call me and we'll work through it together. (502) 718-7148
Custom- Custom generally has multiple designs in the quilt, i.e. separate designs in blocks, sashing and borders. It may be necessary to use Blue Markers and/or chalk; Custom stitching is time intensive and therefore more costly. This level of quilting allows me to showcase the top in the best possible way. (May include turn charge depending on pattern) $.03- $.04/sq.in.
Heirloom- Heirloom quilting is generally for wall hangings, show quilts and keepsake quilts, such as wedding and anniversary quilts. Designs are made specifically for the quilt. It may include trapunto, formal feathers, specialty threads, and very small background designs. It will most likely be necessary to use chalk or blue marker. Heirloom quilting is extremely time consuming and very intensive, therefore it is the most costly. Pricing for Heirloom quilting is $.035-.$.04 per square inch.
Here are my pricing categories. Each quilt is different and after I see your top we can decide which of these levels you would like on your creation. I will honor the love and care you've put in every stitch.
If you have questions about my pricing please contact me by phone (502) 718-7148 or . I would be glad to discuss your quilt with you. However, I cannot give you a definite price until I see the quilt. There is no “wrong” way to quilt a top, but sometimes a quilt just seems to demand certain quilting. After seeing the quilt I may suggest certain quilting, but the decision is up to you. If you are working within a limited budget please let me know. I want to work with you within your budget.
