HUGE thanks to Karen McTavish!

IMG_3621Last week was an absolute whirlwind! We were lucky enough to be able to get Karen McTavish to come to teach three days of wonderful classes for some very happy students.

IMG_3735We had 12 students on the longarm machines for her hands-on classes making Victorian Feathers, learning about crosshatching, curved crosshatching, and how to treat their high end quilts!

IMG_3780It was so much fun to have all the machines fired up at once with everyone busily learning everything Karen had to share with us. Friday night she brought out a trunk show of amazing award winning quilts that made for some fantastic eye candy and inspirational works of art. What a treat!

Finally, on Saturday we had the classroom full of sit down domestic free motion quilters who were doing amazing things with their sit down machines. I’m always so impressed when I see sit down quilters making luscious feathers. That is so hard!

Plus, we are so excited to have all of the classes with Mary Fons open for registration now on the website. She is coming in August to teach for two days. Those classes are filling up fast so get your spot soon! She is doing a lecture too. And, if you sign up for all three classes and the lecture, you’ll get free admission to the VIPie Party with Mary where we will just sit down eating a yummy slice of pie and chat with Mary for a bit. FUN!

  1. I attest to how wonderful the classes were. I went away feeling confident that I can do IT and that is exactly what I am doing. Thank you Angela for having her and thank you Karen for coming to share your wealth of information.

  2. I’m enjoying your blog and learning a lot about longarm quilting. I’m glad I found your website and APQS. The font in your emails is extremely tiny. I’m sure you don’t realize how small it is. Could you enlarge it please.
Looking forward to more of your teachings.

    1. I’ve discovered that if you click on the title, the font enlarges considerably. It’s much easier to read

  3. OH How I wanted to come!! I thought about y’all!!….I fell in love with her when I first purchased my longarm…I just “happened ” upon her website then….from there I was hooked…and have her books, etc. There is so much to longarming…..just a wonderful world of new friends to make and to “make” more longarmers too!!….
